Hiding ATAK Notifications on Samsung Phones

On Samsung phones starting with Android 14 and One UI Version 6.1 the ability to disable notifications from the ATAK app when new markers appear on the screen has become more difficult to find, and is not reflected in COTAK training materials.
To hide these notifications follow these steps:

Open Android Settings

Open "Notifications" settings, then "Advanced settings"

Towards the bottom of the screen find the setting called "Manage notification categories for each app" and

click the slider to turn this on

Then go back to "notifications" settings and tap on "App notifications" and select "ATAK"

At the bottom of the settings for ATAK is an option for "Notification categories." Tap on this and turn off the top-most "TAK Notifications" option. This will prevent notifications every time a new user, aircraft, vehicle, or CAD incident appears on the map.
